Pediatric Dentistry is a specialized field focused on delivering comprehensive preventive and therapeutic oral healthcare for infants, children, and adolescents, including those with special health needs. Early diagnosis and treatment of dental issues play a crucial role in preventing disease progression, minimizing patient discomfort, and reducing overall treatment costs.
The Department of Pediatric Dentistry is equipped with state-of-the-art dental chairs for both undergraduate and postgraduate clinics, along with a sedation room, a parent counseling area, a play area for children, and a preclinical lab. Experienced faculty supervise and train both postgraduate and undergraduate students throughout their training. The program begins in the second year of the Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) course with preclinical exercises, followed by didactic and clinical training in the third and fourth years, as well as during the internship. Special emphasis is placed on specialized dental care and research within the postgraduate section.
