Bachelor of Dental Surgery

BDS stands for Bachelor of Dental Surgery and it is one of the most sought-after medical courses among students after MBBS. Let me give you a brief introduction to this fascinating subject:
BDS is a 5-year undergraduate course that focuses on the field of Dental Sciences. It is a must-have course if you want to work as a dentist in government or private hospitals. In fact, BDS is one of the most popular medical courses after MBBS.
During the 5 years of the course, students study a variety of subjects like Oral Pathology, Dental Hygiene, Dental Histology, Public Health Dentistry, and more. These subjects equip students with explicit knowledge and skills to practice dentistry professionally.
In their final year, students are required to do a 1-year paid internship that is rotation-based. This means that they have to take 2-3 rotations in various departments, which provides them with hands-on experience.
