Periodontics

Periodontics focuses on the prevention and treatment of gingival and periodontal diseases. The Department of Periodontology and Oral Implantology at Kannur Dental College equips students with essential knowledge on periodontium anatomy, clinical insights into gingival and periodontal conditions, and the link between periodontal and overall health. The curriculum introduces students to modern advancements, preparing them with comprehensive skills and knowledge in periodontics.
Our department features dedicated undergraduate and postgraduate sections, each outfitted with advanced dental chairs and ultrasonic scalers. Notable equipment includes sinus augmentation kits, a microsurgical unit, lasers, and specialized implant kits. Undergraduate students gain proficiency in preventive and non-surgical periodontal procedures, observing and assisting postgraduate students in surgical treatments. Postgraduates receive extensive training, mastering various surgical techniques, implant systems, soft tissue lasers, and introductory microsurgery.
