This specialty focuses on the prevention, interception, and correction of dentofacial deformities, which include issues such as tooth protrusion, irregularities, abnormal dental and jaw relationships, and congenital conditions like cleft lip and palate. These deformities can significantly impact essential oral functions such as chewing, swallowing, and speech, and may also lead to psychosocial challenges.
Orthodontics employs three primary treatment modalities to address these deformities: orthodontic treatment, growth modification treatment, and surgical orthodontic treatment. Our department is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and follows strict aseptic protocols to prevent cross-infection.
We are committed to providing high-quality training to our students, incorporating theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and clinical experience. This comprehensive approach ensures that
students gain proficiency in diagnosing orthodontic issues and performing preventive, interceptive, and limited corrective procedures. Open communication with faculty is encouraged to support students in their educational journey.
