Conservative Dentistry And Endodontics

Conservative or restorative dentistry, often referred to as operative dentistry, focuses on restoring the function of teeth affected by various pathological conditions. The department employs a range of restorative and aesthetic techniques, including composites, laminates, and veneers, to achieve optimal outcomes. Its primary objectives are the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of dental caries and other defects in natural teeth. By utilizing techniques designed to restore both function and aesthetics, the department aims to minimize the loss of healthy tooth structure while promoting routine check-ups as part of a comprehensive dental care strategy.
Endodontics, a crucial branch within this field, involves performing root canal treatments and related surgical procedures. Services offered include various restorations, surgical endodontics, endodontic implants, bleaching, and management of traumatized teeth.
The department is well-equipped, featuring eight dental chairs in the postgraduate clinic and 34

chairs in the undergraduate clinic. Additionally, it houses a dedicated pre-clinical laboratory equipped with 70 phantom heads and micro motor attachments. A minor operating theatre with a five-step magnification microscope enhances surgical precision. Other facilities include a departmental library, sterilization area, and radiography section with digital radiography capabilities. For laboratory work, separate metal casting and ceramic labs are available, ensuring comprehensive training and patient care.
